Offenses of attacking another person or putting them in fear of an immediate attack, from common assault and battery to aggravated assault, serious bodily harm and the named street attacks. An offense belongs here when the definition rests on the application of force to a person or the use of force that injures. It excludes attacks defined by poison, mutilation or the victim's age or relationship, which sit in their own groups.
