Laura Dugan

American criminologist and sociologist, Ralph D. Mershon Professor of Human Security and Professor of Sociology at Ohio State University. She is a co-founder of the Global Terrorism Database, an open-source database documenting terrorist incidents worldwide since 1970, which she introduced with co-author Gary LaFree in a 2007 academic paper; the database is maintained by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism. She was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Criminology in 2023.
