Karen T. Taylor

Karen T. Taylor is an American forensic and portrait artist, born March 6, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, who became the Texas Department of Public Safety's first full time forensic artist. She pioneered a two dimensional facial reconstruction technique in the mid 1980s for rebuilding a likely facial appearance from a skull, a method credited with revolutionizing forensic facial reconstruction and aiding law enforcement and anthropological identification work. She later taught forensic art at the FBI Academy in Quantico for more than two decades, was named one of the Texas Women of the Century in 1999, and in 2002 became the first woman to receive the International Association for Identification's Dondero Award.
