Micki Pistorius

Micki Pistorius is a South African forensic psychologist who became the first criminal profiler in South Africa and the first woman in that profession there, working within the South African Police Service during the 1990s. She founded and directed the police's Investigative Psychology Unit, where she analyzed more than thirty serial killer cases and trained over a hundred detectives in profiling technique, and her doctoral research examined serial killers through a psychological lens. She later reached a wide public audience with her autobiography Catch Me a Killer, which was adapted into a television series, and has continued writing on serial killers and criminal psychology since.
