Wu Guoqing

Wu Guoqing (1936 to 2019) was a Chinese police detective and forensic scientist who spent roughly fifty years investigating major crimes, earning the epithet China's Sherlock Holmes for his skill at reconstructing crime scenes from physical evidence. Over his career he is credited with solving approximately 1,000 cases, including serial murders, an airline arson, and bombing investigations, applying trace and physical evidence analysis to cases that had resisted conventional investigative methods. His casework became a point of reference within Chinese police forensic training for the value of painstaking physical evidence examination.
