Police Corruption

Fraud, Deception and Corruption Offenses

Police corruption is a form of police misconduct in which a law enforcement officer violates the public trust placed in their office and abuses their power for personal gain, and such an officer is informally called a dirty cop. A corrupt officer may act alone or as part of a group, and corrupt acts include taking bribes, stealing from victims or suspects, and manipulating evidence to affect the outcome of legal proceedings. Police corruption violates the human rights of citizens and can undermine public trust in the police once it is uncovered or suspected. Has Offense Grade

Entity-backed identity for the offense-grade enum value this offense already carries, resolved to a crime concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The offense-grade fact itself stays on the offense unchanged.
