Norberto Pinero (1858-1938) was a prominent Argentine lawyer, writer and conservative politician who helped shape Argentina's modern criminal justice framework. He collaborated on a proposed overhaul of the national penal code presented to Congress in 1891, and in 1906 served as Minister of Education under President Jose Figueroa Alcorta. He founded the Buenos Aires Bar Association in 1913 and served as its first president, and in his later years turned to historical scholarship through the Mitre Institution.
