Each Italian province has a Polizia di Stato headquarters, the Questura, commanded by a Questore; the Questura di Perugia's Squadra Mobile (flying squad), under Detective Superintendent Monica Napoleoni, led the investigation into the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher that led to the prosecution of Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede.
