Improper hazarding of a vessel or aircraft is an offense under Article 110 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It covers a person subject to military law who willfully and wrongfully hazards, or causes to be hazarded, a vessel or aircraft of the armed forces, which may be punished by death or another punishment a court-martial directs, and separately covers a person who hazards such a vessel or aircraft through negligence, which is punished as a court-martial directs without the possibility of death.
