Missing movement is an offense under Article 87 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It covers a person subject to military law who, through neglect or design, misses the scheduled movement of a ship, aircraft, or unit that the person is required in the course of duty to move with. The same article separately punishes a person who wrongfully and intentionally jumps into the water from a vessel in use by the armed forces. A person convicted under either provision is punished as a court-martial directs.
