Serial Rapist

A serial rapist is a person who commits multiple rapes, whether against multiple victims or repeatedly against a single victim over time; some target children, and some commit assaults within prisons. Related terms such as sexual predator, repeat rape and multiple offending describe people who commit consecutive rapes but are never prosecuted, based on self-reports in research, and in some instances groups of serial rapists work together. Serial rapists differ from one-time offenders in that their offenses more often involve kidnapping, verbal and physical threats against the victim, and the use or threatened use of weapons, and their behavioral patterns are sometimes studied to help predict further offending and aid arrest and conviction.
