Enrico Ferri

Criminological Theorists and Social Scientists

Italian criminologist and a leading figure of the positivist school alongside Cesare Lombroso and Raffaele Garofalo. He shifted the school's focus from Lombroso's physical anthropology toward psychological and social-economic causes of crime, and argued that crime prevention through addressing those causes should take priority over post-crime punishment.
