Richard E. Tremblay is a Canadian developmental psychologist and criminologist who holds the Canada Research Chair in child development at the University of Montreal and has directed its Research Unit on Children's Psychosocial Maladjustment since 1984. His longitudinal research on aggression in children demonstrated that early intervention programs can reduce the likelihood that at-risk children turn to crime as adults, work that made him the first Canadian to receive the Stockholm Prize in Criminology, in 2017.
