Sheldon Glueck, who lived from 1896 to 1980, was a Polish-American criminologist who, together with his wife Eleanor Glueck, conducted pioneering longitudinal research into juvenile delinquency. The couple developed the Social Prediction Tables, a method for estimating a young person's likelihood of future delinquent behavior from early risk factors, and carried out some of the earliest sustained studies of chronic juvenile offenders and the role of psychopathy among serious delinquents.
