Prostitution, pimping and brothel-keeping cover the commercial sex trade. Prostitution involves engaging, agreeing or offering to engage in sexual conduct with another person in return for a fee, and it is a crime throughout the United States except in a few rural counties in Nevada. Courts have held that the sexual conduct may include intercourse, other sexual acts and lewd contact done to satisfy sexual desire. Section 33 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956 in England and Wales made it an offense for a person to keep a brothel, or to manage, or act or assist in the management of, a brothel.
