Regional and Global Police Cooperation Bodies

Regional and global police cooperation bodies are organizations through which police forces share information and work across borders. INTERPOL is a global organization that enables police to work directly with their counterparts, even between countries that do not have diplomatic relations, takes only politically neutral actions within the limits of existing laws, and gives police a voice on the world stage. AFRIPOL, the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation, is dedicated to a safer, more resilient Africa through police cooperation across the continent, and its mission is to combat organized transnational crime, terrorism and cybercrime through partnerships and capacity development. ASEANAPOL is a network of the eleven ASEAN member police forces, governed by a conference, an executive committee and a permanent secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
