A private, nonprofit organization established by the United States Congress in 1984 that serves as a national clearinghouse and resource on missing and sexually exploited children, working with families, law enforcement agencies, schools and the technology industry on prevention, recovery and awareness. It was formally opened by President Ronald Reagan on June 13, 1984.
