Child selling is the practice of selling children, usually by their parents, legal guardians, or subsequent custodians such as adoption agencies, orphanages, or mother and baby homes. Where the relationship that follows is essentially non-exploitative, the purpose of the sale is usually to permit the child to be adopted.
