A curb stomp, also called curbing or curb painting, is a violent assault in which an attacker forces a victim's mouth or jaw onto the edge of a curb from behind and then stomps on the back of the victim's head, driving the jaw down onto the curb. The technique causes severe injury to the mouth, teeth and jaw and can kill the victim, which is why the law treats it as a form of grievous assault or attempted murder rather than an ordinary assault.
