Kerb Crawler

A kerb crawler, also spelled curb crawler, is a person who drives around areas known for street prostitution and solicits prostitutes for sexual activity from the vehicle, a practice called kerb crawling after the habit of driving slowly along the kerbside. Where prostitution is illegal, kerb crawlers are treated as a public nuisance because their presence sustains street prostitution in red-light districts and because they may also solicit women who are not prostitutes, and kerb crawling itself is a criminal offense in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea and India, commonly enforced through undercover sting operations in which police record license plate numbers and contact vehicle owners. By contrast, kerb crawling and soliciting in a public place are both legal in New Zealand.
