Part Of

This relation records which parent body a given institution belongs to, connecting a subordinate agency, bureau or department to the larger organization or ministry that oversees it. A subsidiary is an organization completely or partially owned or controlled by another, called the parent, which holds legal and organizational authority over it, and the same structure of a smaller body nested inside a larger one applies to a government agency sitting inside its parent ministry or department. Reading this relation from an institution's page shows its parent agency; reading it from the parent's page shows the institutions that sit beneath it.
