Acts Leading to or Intending Death

The UNODC International Classification of Crime for Statistical Purposes class covering offenses whose defining harm is the death of a person or a deliberate attempt to cause one, gathering homicide in its degrees together with the vehicular case where death results from criminally reckless driving rather than an intentional act. Belongs here: any offense whose completed or attempted result is a person's death, distinguished from one another chiefly by the offender's intent and premeditation. Does not belong here: offenses that cause injury without death, grouped under Acts Causing or Intending Harm to the Person, or killing carried out as part of a mass atrocity or an act of war, grouped under Offenses Against Public Safety and State Security. This subcategory groups Homicide, Murder, Manslaughter and Vehicular Manslaughter.
