Frequently Asked Questions

Can INTERPOL make arrests or send agents to detain suspects?

No. INTERPOL is not a police force and has no power to arrest, investigate or prosecute. It facilitates information sharing, such as Red Notices, between national police forces, who alone carry out arrests under their own national law.
